For no good reason other than efficiency, this was done on two different boards, and then melded together digitally. The background was done as a complete piece with some pencil thrown in there. The two foreground people were done on a different piece, and changed digitally in places. Some people didn't understand that the larger guy is a Grassland "holy man", and is blessing the elf's sword so she might do better in battle.
