Watercolor, prismacolor pencil on illustration board. I came up with this image when I was in a coffeeshop and looked over across the room at a shelf of old paperbacks. On one cover was what looked like a pulpy, semi-transparent head vignette behind some kind of landscape. I sketched what I thought I saw, even making some color notes. I later took a closer look at the cover and the person in the vignette was Leonardo DaVinci's self-portrait!
