Acrylic Gouache on Board. Well, here's the piece in full. It was actually the first of the "Kami" pieces I worked on, but painted it right up until the deadline. I was both vexed and intrigued by the concept of this world's spirits. I wanted to do something honestly weird, and though it took quite a few sketchbook pages before I landed on something I liked, I thought it was worth it. Basically the Kami is trying to look something close to a human, but failing miserably. Although I knew the piece would be cropped, I couldn't resist in making the format something a little more complicated than usual, so I made the piece much taller.
